Closeness

About the workshop

The workshops' idea refers to the term "closeness" in the semantic meaning of the word and its transformation in the current scenario. Participants will be divided into two groups and asked to execute a task based on mutual interactions, intuition, emotions, and individual feelings, under the shadow of mystery. In this workshop, we will build around the exchange of information in visual art and text. When we mix them, the results could be visualised in various forms using various artistic expressions. We aim to present the issue of closeness in a new and fresh context. Together we will develop relationships and closeness in a virtually distanced platform. Students are encouraged to investigate their personal style and create an individual message.

Agnieszka Ziemiszewska

Graphic designer, educator, and art curator.

She designs posters, publications, visual identifications as well as social art projects. She regards art not only as a communication and intervention tool but also as an area of unlimited experimentation. Selflessness and freedom, seen as a state in which one does not assume or exclude anything, are the values she considers to be essential in art. She is an alumnus of the Graphics Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź (MA), as well as the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (PhD). Agnieszka Ziemiszewska actively participates in international shows dedicated to graphic design and poster. Her works have been presented at exhibitions and events all over the world.

Paloma Kałuzińska

Designer, student, coordinator, and realist, all in one. She graduated with distinction from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw and is now studying for an MA course in Graphic Branding and Identity at the University of the Arts London. Daily, she is a freelancer and a coordinator for the Association of Polish Graphic Designers, and she engages in all activities a calendar can fit. In her career, she organised four mentoring programs. She specialises in typography and branding design, but she designs posters for international competitions in her free time. She worked for both major corporations and small companies, and it is only the beginning.
