Over the last few decades the so-called “performative turn” has had an important presence in the fields of visual arts and humanities.  According to this paradigm, the term “performance” is employed as a heuristic principle to understand human behaviour and different kinds of artistic practices. Could visual symbols themselves be seen as unique pictorial performances? How do artists and designers combine visual strategies within performing arts practices in their work? Can text-based communication become an essential element of cultural performances in public space, theatre, and virtual spaces – Internet and VR?

Creativity – Text in Performance Workshop Week is aimed to seek the performative potential of text in the performing arts, including new media. The program consists of nine workshops combined with lectures, covering areas of drawing, illustration, poster design, film, animation, mapping, AR and VR.

Duration: five days, six hours a day online x nine parallel groups of 10–16 participants per group, using MC Teams. Estimated number of participants – 100 people, checked and confirmed by registration.

Creativity – Text in Performance Workshop Week is a part of the Future Text research and educational project, carried out at the PJAIT Faculty of New Media Arts thanks to a grant from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
