Night of Ideas

Although "isolation" seems to be one of the most frequently spoken words last year, its opposite – “closeness” – is the theme of this year's Night of Ideas.

During the fifth Polish edition of the event, the French Institute in Poland and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, as well as distinguished guests from France and Poland, want to find an answer to the question concerning the importance of CLOSENESS, especially in times of pandemic and crisis.

The topics will be taken from the perspective of philosophy, politics, sociology, architecture and design. We will ask about the role of closeness in times of crisis and potential catastrophes. We will talk about what could be characterized by a "city of closeness". We will also consider what the pandemic has changed in our language and relationships.

The audience will be able to follow online debates and ask questions to guests, including French architect Nicolas Laisné, philosopher Jean-Pierre Dupuy, semiologist Mariette Darrigrand, designer Ruedi Baur, political activist and Member of the Polish Parliament Barbara Nowacka and sociologist Marek Krajewski. The talks will be moderated by Aneta Kyzioł ("Polityka"). The Night of Ideas program will also include presentations of artistic works, which are the results of international workshops in design, animation and VR Creativity – Text in Performance conducted at PJAIT.

Participation in the event will be possible through the ZOOM program. Free registration is required.
